Stevenson football debacle

You feel for the players that remain — all eight of them.
But it had to be done.
Stevenson forfeited today's football game with Greenfield.
And while six players from the junior varsity practiced with the varsity on Thursday, one day is not enough time to get prepared to play a varsity football game, nor is 14 players.
Stevenson has not canceled its season. The hope is that the six players that are hurt will get cleared, perhaps as early as next week, giving them 20 to play Carmel on Oct. 18.
I find it hard to believe, though, that most of the 22 sophomores on the junior varsity refused to come up and play. I understand parents concerns. But a decision to band together has hurt two programs.
