Carmel (1-0) at Templeton (1-0), 7:30 p.m.
Nestled off the 101 between Paso Robles and Atsacadero, this is the first known meeting between the two programs.
Having suffered three straight losing seasons, the Eagles snapped a three-year season opening losing streak last week, going on the road and beating Caruthers 32-6.
Templeton was balanced in its attack last week, with 140 yards and two touchdowns through the air, and 188 yards and a pair of scores on the ground.
Zach Logan was sharp behind center for Templeton, completing 11-of-13, while Michael Avery and Tyler Kaschewski combined for 158 yards on the ground.
It only seemed fitting that Carmel coach Golden Anderson's 100th win as a head coach came against the programs biggest rival in Pacific Grove in last week's season opener.
Physically the Padres are fine. Mentally, they can't afford a hangover effect from a rivalry game this week.
Dakota Mornhinweg rushed for over 100 yards and three touchdowns last week. Carmel is 17-1 with the senior in the lineup.
Kai Lee quietly threw for 214 yards and a touchdown, finding Benicio Cristofalo on swing passes to the outside, letting the sprinter pick up big yards after the catch.
Look for Templeton to come up and defend it, which could open up avenues down field for Lee to get the ball to Nico Staehle and J.T. Byrne.
Byrne and sophomore Amir Brown created havoc on defense last week for Carmel, each recording a sack in the second quarter.
