Austin Wahl is 2-0 in 18 relief appearances this summer for the Oakland A's minor league affiliate in the Arizona Rookie League.
The right-hander has struck out 27 hitters in 21 1/3 innings of work, lowering his earned run average in the process.
Drafted in the 23rd round by the A's after pitching last spring for CSU-Monterey Bay, Wahl was a two-sport standout at Cornell, and a member of The Herald's all-county football and baseball teams.
