Alisal-Terra Nova football

Friday's game
Alisal (1-1) at Terra Nova (1-1), 7 p.m.
A nail-biting two-point loss to WCAL member Riordan to open the year was followed by a 21-point win over Fremont last week for Terra Nova.
The Tigers are 3-0 in the last two years when facing teams from Monterey County, including a 31-14 decision over Alisal last fall.
The Trojans watched a seven-point halftime lead evaporate last week, giving up 21 straight points in a loss to Alvarez.
Mental mistakes continue to be a thrown in Alisal's side, giving up a touchdown on a kickoff return last week, erasing momentum. Maintaining discipline will be critical against Terra Nova.
Quarterback Raphael Bendo had a big night with his legs and arm last week for the Tigers, with three scrambles of 25 yards or longer, while hitting two deep throws.
Terra Nova runs a pro style offense, where it will come at you with an aerial assault. Mateo Jimenez and his 35 receptions from last year are back.
Limiting the Tigers possessions starts with Alisal's ability to grind the ball on the ground and chew up the clock behind a trio of backs, including Rauas Andrei, who had two touchdowns last week.
