Laton-Trinity football

Saturday's game
Trinity (0-0) vs. Laton (0-0) at Pacific Grove High, 2 p.m.
It was a Jekyll and Hyde year last season for Trinity, who dropped its first four games, than rattled off three straight wins before closing the fall with two consecutive losses.
Despite ending the season with a three-game losing streak, Laton had a knack for producing wild point totals, scoring 84 and 81 points in a pair of wins during a 6-4 season.
One of the Mustangs lowest point totals came in a 34-20 win over Trinity. Hayden Moser and his 800 plus rushing yards and nine touchdowns have returned.
The core of the squad is back for Trinity, including tailback Alex Cabanilla. The hope is 6-4 receiver Cameron Hill, who has been nursing an injury, will be ready for the opener.
The Warriors averaged 38.5 points a game in their three wins, but just 18.6 points in their losses last year.
Trinity has never beaten Laton. It's also trying to snap a three-game season opening losing streak.
