The former Stevenson and MPC standout craved out a name for himself this past spring in his first season for the Towson University baseball team.
Powers led the team in homers (7), walks (23) and on-base percentage (.391). The 6-foot-5 slugging first baseman also drove in 26 runs.
The junior scored 22 runs and recorded 18 multiple hit games for Towson, a Division I program that plays in the Colonial Athletic Association.
Powers was a two-time all-leaguer at Stevenson, earning all-conference honors at MPC.
