Watsonville-Alisal boys soccer

Having rescheduled its first three league games for various reasons, Watsonville will finally open Gabilan Division play tonight against defending champion Alisal.
The Wildcatz haven't played since Jan. 3 in a tournament in Hawaii. Their only setback on the year was a 3-2 decision to CCS power Bellarmine.
Alisal has struggled for an identity this year after capturing the Northern California Division II title last year, dropping its league opener to North County.
Still, don't be mislead by Alisal's 5-5-2 record. It's faced three southern section powers, Richmond, who played them in the Northern California finals, and CCS powers Mitty and Bellarmine.
The Trojans showed signs of returning to form in the rain last Wednesday with a 2-1 decision over San Benito.
Alisal is unbeaten in its last six games against the Wildcatz, having gone 4-0-2. The only champions the Gabilan Division has ever crowned have been Alisal or Watsonville.
