The Herald's All-County volleyball
Meghan Amaral, Notre Dame: The senior registered 10 or more kills in 11 of her last 13 matches for the Spirits, finishing with a team high 238 kills this past season.
Amaral made adjustments in mid air, hitting around blocks or simply dropping balls across the net. She also produced 130 digs on rotation and led the Spirits in service aces with 40.

Kamryn Anderson, Alvarez: The most complete player on a well-balanced Eagles squad, Anderson averaged nearly 11 kills a match last fall.
The senior was explosive at the net and graceful in the back row, compiling well over 400 digs for the Mission Division co champions.

Christina Chagnon, Salinas: Overshadowed by some of her teammates, the senior hitter emerged as a threat at the net, quietly producing 281 kills this fall for Salinas.
Chagnon hit for a high percentage. She also produced 40 blocks and finished among the area leaders in service aces with 55.

Emma Crabbe, Carmel: Evolving into one of the premier setters in the county after splitting time last fall at the position, the junior finished with over 500 assists.
Crabbe offered up precise sets, eyeing the defense before making adjustments while in motion. She  was also among the teams top servers.

Jennifer Foley, Salinas: Despite missing three weeks with a concussion, the senior still produced over 1,000 assists for the Gabilan Division champions.
Cleared to play in the postseason, Foley came in and helped ignite the Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs with 50 assists, finishing with 171 in four postseason matches.

Spencer Hagenbuch, Notre Dame: What a difference having Hagenbuch for an entire season made as the senior recorded over 800 assists for the State Northern California Division IV semifinalists.
Hagenbuch spread the ball around the court, involving as many as five different players during the course of a match. She also recorded 135 digs and 15 service aces.

Jocelyn Hernandez, Seaside: The Most Valuable Player in the Mission Division, Hernandez had over 300 kills, averaging nearly 13 a match.
Hernandez had three matches with 19 or more kills, including the Spartans playoff win over Mercy-San Francisco, its first in 14 years. She was also among the team leaders in service aces.

Sydney Johnson, Seaside: A side kick to the league MVP in the front row, Johnson quietly finished with nearly 300 kills for the two-time league champion Spartans.
The senior was a menace at the net with her tenacious drive on both offense and defense for Seaside, and was among the team leaders in blocks and service aces.

Soana Laulotu, Carmel: A four-year starter for the Padres, Laulotu finished with 315 kills this past fall, marking the third straight year she recorded 200 or more kills.
A three-sport standout for Carmel, Laulotu was a powerful presence at the net, yet extremely poised in the back, leading the team in digs with 189.

Savanna Maker, Salinas: A powerful presence at the net, the 6-foot-4 Maker led the Central Coast Section Division I finalist in kills with 305.
Maker was among the most powerful hitters in the county, and was a disruptive force on defense in the middle, leading the area in blocks with 74.

Alicia Rector, Santa Catalina: All eyes were on Rector, who led the Cougars in blocks, assists and kills this past fall for the Cougars.
Asked to fill many roles, the senior compiled 180 digs, 175 assists and 85 kills for Santa Catalina, compiling double digits in all three categories five times.

Grace Shepherd, King City: Double teams didn't stop Shepherd from producing 536 kills this fall, giving her over 1,100 in the last three years.
A repeater on The Herald's All-County team, the 6-foot-1 senior was resourceful in hitting around, over and through blocks. She also compiled just over 300 digs and 51 aces for the Mustangs.

Jose Ramos, Alisal coach: No program had a bigger turnaround than the Trojans, who went from two wins in 2017 to 22 this past fall, reaching the Central Coast Section playoffs.
