Salinas (3-2) at Christopher (3-2), 7:30 p.m.
A battle of defending Central Coast Section Divisional champions isn't all these two teams have in common. Both have identical records.
Christopher, who had won just one Gabilan Division game in three previous appearances, matched that two weeks ago and gave San Benito a battle before falling by six last week.
Both teams aren't afraid to air it out as Ben Sanford has thrown for over 1,400 yards for the Cougars while Carl Richardson has over 500 passing yards in his last two games for Salinas.
After rushing for over 500 yards in his first three games, tailback Tyler Davis has been held to 35 yards in his last two games for Christopher. Now he faces a front seven designed to stop the run.
Ironically both of Christopher's losses this year have come at home -- by a total of eight points. The Cowboys meanwhile are undefeated on the road this year.
As good as Richardson has been throwing the ball the last two weeks, Abraham Hernandez and Jeff Schaffer are averaging over 100 rushing yards as a pair the last two weeks.
One thing the Cowboys defense does really well is get after the quarterback. Zachary Daton, Nathan Martorella and Sebastian Gomez have combined for 18 of the teams' 22 sacks.
Salinas is 3-0 lifetime against the Cougars, having outscored them 126-26.
