North County-King City football

Friday's game
North County (4-4) at King City (4-4), 7:30 p.m.
While only the league champion is assured of a spot in the playoffs, both these teams could have an outside shot at the postseason by running the table.
King City will have more points by virtue of having most likely played three league champions this fall.
The Mustangs opened up their offense last week and produced a season high 49 points. They even reached into their bag of tricks on the first play of the game, resulting in a touchdown.
Sophomore Jonah Mendez completed 20-for-25 for 210 yards, while Dylan Oliveros turned two pass attempts into two touchdowns.
Oliveros spent time in the backfield, rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown, and caught four passes for 32 yards and a touchdown.
Aaron Leonard was big in his return to the backfield, rushing for 142 yards while Isa Gonzales had 144 receiving yards for King City.
While the Mustangs are coming off their most productive offensive effort, North County posted a shutout two weeks ago against Santa Cruz.
The Condors Riley Anderson is among the state leaders in tackles while Konan Van Lear has double digits in sacks.
Ironically both teams' best offensive efforts have come against Pacific Grove. You can also make the argument that the Condors and King City's best defensive performances were against Santa Cruz.
