Saturday morning thoughts

Dramatics: A 10-yard touchdown run from Anthony Villegas in overtime lifts Palma to a 26-20 win over previously unbeaten Menlo-Atherton.
Consecutive points: Dating back to last week, Monterey has rattled off 58 straight points in jumping out to a 3-0 start this fall.
Impression: Carmel's offense is averaging 42 points a game in the first half in its last two games. Its defense has allowed two touchdowns in the last 10 quarters.
Heartbreaker: A safety in the final two minutes of the game was the difference in Stevenson's 16-15 loss to Oakland.
Statement: A week after ending a 15-year losing streak to Pacific Grove, Gonzales comes out and ends an eight-game losing skid to Soledad with a 28-0 win.
Numbers: Dakota Mornhinweg piles up 239 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just 12 carries for Carmel. Payton Flores produces three more touchdowns for Gonzales. Anthony Villegas runs for two touchdowns, including the game winner for Palma. Azjani McGill produces two touchdowns for Monterey. Matt Morales has scored in every game this year for North Salinas.
