Michael Armstead showed off the speed that made him an attraction to the University of San Diego when his first catch for the team was a 51-yard completion.
Armstead, who caught over 120 passes in two seasons at MPC, is working up the depth chart after not arriving until late spring.
A teammate of Armstead’s is sophomore tailback Emilio Martinez, who has rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown in two games. The Palma product also has 10 catches for 56 yards and has returned two kickoffs for 22 yards.
Last year Martinez rushed for over 1,000 yards for San Diego and led the team in kickoff yards. As a senior at Palma, he rushed over 2,500 yards and scored 39 touchdown
