Laton-Trinity football

Saturday's game
Laton (1-0) vs. Trinity (0-1) at Pacific Grove High, 2 p.m.
The Mustangs erupted for 84 points in a season opening win over Anzar, while Trinity was held to eight points in a loss to Rincon Valley.
Last fall Laton was dealing with a 29-game losing streak before winning eight of its next 10 games to reach the Eight-Man football postseason.
Quarterback Tysen Westfall is coming off a season in which he threw for nearly 1,200 yards and 21 touchdowns for Laton, and rushed for 970 yards and 13 more touchdowns.
Two turnovers and a blocked punt had Trinity in a 21-point deficit last week before Chase Perez hit Caleb Wong with a touchdown pass.
More passes need to go in the direction of 6-foot-4 Cameron Hill, who was on the receiving end of a 42-yard completion to set up Trinity's only touchdown.
Last year the Warriors were 5-0 when scoring 30 or more points, winless when giving up 30 or more points, including a 42-32 loss to Laton.
