Among them were 2018 Seaside graduates Matthew Briscoe and Colby Davis, Palma's Vince Flores, Dominic Scattini and Zachary Taylor, and Salinas' Tyler Koran and Drew Schuler.
Also receiving scholarships were Marcella Gudiel of North County, Maria Hernandez-Tejeda of Greenfield, Teresa Ochoa of North Salinas, Danielle Pasquariello of Pacific Grove, Miranda Wilson of Salinas and Veronica Wood of Notre Dame.
In addition, previous winners had their grants renewed, including Salinas' Jonathon Chagnon (Cal Poly-SLO track), Trinity's Paul Cieri (Albright College swimming), Notre Dame's Jenna Garcia (Simon Fraser wrestling), Santa Catalina's Allie Loomis (UC Irvine water polo), Greenfield's Evelin Meza (San Jose State cross country) and Seaside's Anela Visesio (CSUMB volleyball).
The Gen Giammanco Foundation was established in 2010 in honor of Genevieve Giammanco. The foundation has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to student-athletes.
