Football Tour thoughts

If I had one sentence to describe all 19 prep and college football teams in the county, this would be it.

1. King City: Disciplined enough to make a run in the Cypress Division.

2. Greenfield: A lot of positive energy under a new regime.

3. Soledad: Reigning champions looking at themselves as the underdogs.

4. Gonzales: Most improved program over the last two years.

5. Marina: Great effort in practice under first year coach Michael Dulisse.

6. North County: Don't think having a home field this fall won't make a difference.

7. Salinas: Most overall talent in the county, and a punishing offensive line.

8. Alisal: Is going to run it down your throat until you stop it.

9. Palma: It's quarterback could have a breakout season.

10. North Salinas: A different attitude under first year coach Ben Ceralde.

11. Alvarez: Could be the surprise team in the Gabilan Division.

12 Carmel: Potentially has the most explosive offense in the county.

13. Monterey: Easily the fastest team in the county at the skills.

14. Seaside: Will be the most physical team in the area.

15. Stevenson: Will be the most improved team in the county.

16. Pacific Grove: Doubling its roster size has created good competition.

17. Trinity: Grasping a new offense that potentially could put up big numbers.

18. Hartnell: Talented but not deep in numbers means remaining healthy is a concern.

19. MPC: Very balanced on both sides of the ball, primed for a three-peat.
