Entering his junior year at Sacramento State, the 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive end finished among the team leaders last fall in sacks with five.
Choates also recorded 23 tackles, forced a fumble and broke up three passes. Choates was a member of The Herald’s All-County football team in 2014.
