A stretch of nine consecutive road matches continues today when the Otters face the University of Alaska at Dominican University in San Rafael.
The Otters will play four teams over the course of 24 hours, with matches slated against Concordia-Portland, Dominican and Point Loma.
Having already knocked off a ranked team in its season opener in Northwest Nazarene, taking two of three matches at a tournament in Idaho last week was a solid starting point for CSUMB.
Anela Visesio is closing in on 700 kills for her college career, leading the team with 35 kills through its first three matches.
The former Seaside High standout also has five service aces, which matches her career high for an entire season.
As a team, CSUMB recorded 25 service aces in 12 sets.
Having senior Chandler McKean back at the net is creating headaches for opponents as she compiled 31 kills and three blocks to move up on the Otters all-time list.
Sophomore Jenna Tobin was a nice compliment to Visesio last week with 24 kills. Both fed off sets from San Benito product Erica Chapa, who has 111 through three matches.
Tobin didn't come off the floor, finishing with 34 digs, while Ashlynne Armstrong tallied 32.
Alaska and Concorida are both 2-1 on the season while Dominican opened its season with a win over CCAA member Sonoma State.
