Carter Aldrete has put together an impressive summer in the Cape Cod League with a league high five home runs.
Spending time this summer at second and third base, the Arizona State sophomore slugger has raised his average to .270, and is fourth in the Cape Cod League in runs batted in with 14.
Aldrete hit .293 this past spring for the Sun Devils, driving in 31 runs while walking 22 times.
A four-year starting shortstop at Monterey High, the 20-year old was a two-time member of The Herald’s All County baseball team.
