Carter Aldrete

Monterey graduate Carter Aldrete capped his sophomore season at Arizona State by being named to the Pac 12 honorable mention baseball team.

Aldrete hit .293 this past spring for the Sun Devils, equaling his career high for runs batted in with 31. Starting 50 games, the right-handed slugger hit three homers, had 15 extra base hits, scored 27 runs and walked 22 times.

Moving to third base this year after playing second base his freshman year at Arizona State, Aldrete committed just three errors in the teams final 21 games, finishing with a .920 fielding percentage.

Aldrete was a four year starting shortstop at Monterey and a two-time member of The Herald’s All-County baseball team. He also started for two years as the Toreadores quarterback.
