The National Alliance of Two Year Athletic Administrators has named current Stevenson Associate Director of Athletics Jim Forkum as this year’s winner of the L. William Miller award.
The award is the highest honor given annually by the organization in recognizing athletic administration. Forkum will be honored on June 28 at a luncheon in Washington D.C.
"It is truly a humbling yet gratifying honor to be recognized by one’s peers from across America," said Forkum, who spent more than a decade as the Hartnell men’s basketball coach, before becoming an athletic director at Santa Rosa College.
Forkum served as president of the organization in 2013. He continues to serve the organization as co-chair of the Connections Group representing retired athletic directors.
Forkum’s basketball coaching tenure includes stops as the head coach at Hawaii-Hilo. He’s also worked as a high school coach at North Salinas and Marina, and now works in the athletics department at Stevenson.
