Pacific Grove-Santa Catalina softball

 The Breakers won't have a lot of time to dwell on seeing their nine-game winning streak snapped, as a battle with unbeaten Santa Catalina looms tonight.
 Last year the Cougars swept their series with Pacific Grove, stretching their winning streak over their league rivals to 16 straight.
 Prior to its 4-2 loss to defending Mission Trail Athletic League champion Carmel, Pacific Grove had the longest current winning streak in the county.
 Yet, a win over the Cougars can move Pacific Grove back into a tie for first in the loss column with Carmel and Santa Catalina.
 Prior to its 10-3 win over Stevenson on Tuesday, Santa Catalina had been idle since March 28 for an extended spring break. Abby Gunter and Emily Radner had been raking at the plate.
 Danielle Pasquariello continues to swing a hot bat for Pacific Grove with her fifth straight multiple hit game on Tuesday.
 Teammate Alana Henden has swung a hot bat of late for the Breakers along with Vada Courtney and Rachel Consiglio.
