MBL Swimming Finals

Depth will dictate the outcome Saturday as Salinas looks to repeat the feat as defending Monterey Bay League champions in the boys division.
The Cowboys, who were undefeated in dual meet competition this spring, are expected to pile up points in multiple events, anchored by Kayne Doughty and Alex Loftus.
Doughty is the favorite in the 100 fly (53.87) and is seeded No. 2 in the 200 IM (2:05.13), while Loftus has the fastest time in the 50 free (23.13) and is ranked second in the 100 free (49.67).
In addition, Cody Falconer will be the favorite in the 100 breast (62.58), while Dante Jackson and Max Lizaola are ranked 1-2 in diving.
Palma has two of the top swimmers in the league in Nicholas Sullivan, who is the favorite in the 500 free (4:58.23), and Mateo Trujillo in the 100 back (60.61).
The Cowboys bid to overtake defending champion Christopher in the girls division starts with Maria Wilson, who will be the favorite in the 500 free (5:42.82).
Also bidding for titles include Kanyada Doughty in the 50 free and 100 free, and Amanda Cavazos in the 100 fly, where she is seeded second  (61.99).
Erika Perez and Brooke Locke are two of the top divers in the league. Salinas' only setback this year came from Christopher.
