The former Carmel High slugger has played in 18 games this spring for the University of Pacific baseball team, sporting a .328 on base percentage.
Hayes has driven in seven runs for the Tigers while ripping a pair of extra base hits. Defensively, the third basemen sports a .900 fielding percentage, having turned four double plays.
Hayes was a four-year starter at Carmel and a two-time member of The Herald's All-County baseball team.
