All star basketball game

 Rivals for four years will become teammates for a couple of hours Friday in the 11th annual Salinas Steinbeck Rotary all-star basketball game at 7:30 p.m. at Alvarez..
 The South, comprised of seniors from Monterey County, will include Pacific Division Player of the Year Matthew Briscoe of Seaside.
 In addition, Mission Trail Athletic League Most Outstanding Player Billy Hollman of Soledad will roam the paint along with Gabilan Division co-Player of the Year Adrian Betancourt of Alisal.
 Between the trio are nearly 53 points a game. Don't discount Alvarez guard Marc Flores, who broke the school's all-time record for 3-point goals.
 Jarrett Edria, a member of The Herald's All-County team from Salinas, will play along with King City's Cedrick Perez, who broke his school's all-time 3-point goals record.
 Lining up for the North will include Monte Vista 6-foot-10 post Lucas Schmidt, as well as Coastal Athletic League Player of the Year Jordan Chaty of Marina.
 The girls contest will feature Stevenson four-year starter Ambreece Gaskins, who averaged over 20 points a game the last two seasons.
 The South's roster will include Occidental bound guard Kulaea Tulua of Pacific Grove and Xenia Suarez, who led Soledad to the programs first ever MTAL title.
