Sophomore Marissa Bruno has shaken off a slow start for the Portland State softball team, raising her batting average to .281 in 14 starts this spring.
The left-handed slap hitter is second on the team in stolen bases and third in runs scored (9). Bruno also has a game-wining, run scoring double to her credit this year.
A four-year starter at Santa Catalina, Bruno has just one error in 19 chances in the outfield for Portland State, who went into the weekend undefeated at home.
