Former Seaside High and Monterey Peninsula College sprinter Jayla Scholis recently ran the fastest time on the Cal women’s track team in the 60 meters at an indoor meet in Seattle, clocking 7.61.
The senior sprinter has been the Bears fastest 60 meter sprinter during the indoor season. Last year she was part of the 400 relay team that finished seventh in the Pac 12 championships.
Scholis was a Junior College All-American in the 100 and 200 at MPC, capturing the Northern California 100 title in 2013. She also went to the state meet twice for Seaside in the 100 and 200.
