CSUMB-Stanislaus State baseball

First place and a national ranking has the Otters in uncharted waters going into this weekend's four-game series at Stanislaus State, who sits just one game back.
The road has been good for CSUMB (14-4), who is 6-1 this season when traveling. The Otters have also been clutch in nailbitters, sporting a 4-1 record in games decided by a run.
No one is having a bigger season at the plate in the California Collegiate Athletic Association than San Benito grad Jacob Tonascia, who is hitting .371 with six homers and 26 runs batted in.
Coming off a CCAA Player of the Week honor with a pair of homers last week, Hayden Duer raised his average to. 297 with five home runs and 22 runs batted in.
TD Dove has been a table setter at the top of the order, leading the team with a .411 average, scoring a team high 20 runs with 17 walks, while Kyle Czaplak has filled a gap at shortstop, hitting. 368.
Moving Greg Steinbeck to the bullpen has worked well, as he sports a 2.45 earned run average, with a win and a save in 17 innings.
Six different players have recorded saves for the Otters, including Soledad grad AJ Banuelos and San Benito product Connor Fabing.
Colton Fletcher and Gabe Katich have been rocks in the rotation, each making five starts, combining for a 6-1 record. Fletcher sports a 2.45 earned run average with 26 strikeouts in 26 innings.
