Watsonville-Notre Dame hoops

The only two undefeated teams left in the Pacific Division square off tonight, with the Spirits riding a three-game home winning streak.
Watsonville's only two road losses this season have come against teams outside the state. Both teams have non-league setbacks to St. Francis of Watsonville.
The Spirits sophomore class has grown up in a hurry this season as Kelly Kinion, Angela Leavitt and Grace Briley are averaging a combined 28 points a game.
Senior guard Savanah Quintana has been a scoring machine all year for the Wildcatz, who swept the season series from Notre Dame last winter in league play.
With 10 overall wins, the Spirits have already surpassed last year's entire win total of eight, equaling their league total of four.
Both teams rely on their defense to ignite their offense. The Wildcatz defense has held seven teams under 40 points this year while Notre Dame has limited six teams under 40 points.
The last time Notre Dame started a league season 4-0 was in 2012. The last time Watsonville opened league play with four straight wins, it won a share of a league title in 2013.
