Palma-Salinas hoops

During the Chieftains run of 41 straight Gabilan Division wins, the streak has only been threatened three times -- two coming from Salinas, tonight's opponent.
Two years ago the Cowboys gave Palma its biggest scare, falling 52-50. Last year Salinas rebounded from a humbling 49 point pasting on the road to fall by just 12 at home to the Chieftains.
Clearly the Cowboys -- who have dropped 12 straight to Palma -- play them better at home, which is the site of tonight's game at 'The Corral.'
Salinas coach Jens Gordon spoke earlier in the year about how much he liked the chemistry on the floor with this year's core, which included four new starters minus Jarrett Edria.
Contributions are coming from Kaden Batista, AJ Saldana and the Orozco brothers, David and Isaiah.
A balanced scoring attack has been a must for Palma this year after losing current USF point guard and two-time league MVP Jamaree Bouyea.
A scoring by committee approach has included Peyton Seelye. Four starter Garrett Maker and Joey Burlison are key cogs to shutting down the Cowboys attack
