Palma-Alisal boys hoops

The beauty of the Gabilan Division is you don't get a lot of time to savor a win, or pout after a loss.
Four games into the league season and no one is undefeated. Six of the seven teams sit within a game of each other.
Included in that group are Palma and Alisal, who meet tonight in a battle of once-beaten teams.
Both suffered losses last week at Salinas -- the Chieftains by a point and Alisal by 30.
Don't put too much stock into the results. The Trojans were due for a letdown after opening the year with 15 straight wins by 11 or more points.
What we do know about Alisal is it's a different team on its home court, as evident by a 17-point win over Monterey, who beat Salinas.
Of course, we don't know how the Trojans will respond after being humbled.
After seeing its 41-game league winning streak snapped, Palma answered the challenge, holding off Monte Vista.
These teams have contrasting styles as Alisal is an offensive minded team behind Josue Gil-Silva and Adriano Betancourt, having scored 70 or more points eight times at home.
The Chieftains have relied on their defense, anchored by Joey Burlison and Garrett Maker.
You can make the argument that Palma is more battled tested, having played five games decided by four points or less -- going 4-1 in those games.
