MPC-Hartnell men's basketball

How will the Panthers respond after falling from the unbeaten ranks in the Coast Conference to state ranked Gavilan?
Hartnell still has a share of the conference lead going into Wednesday's rival game with the Lobos, who snapped a three-game losing streak with a one-point win over West Valley.
The Lobos gave Gavilan all it had before falling by a point in overtime last week. The Rams made it a local sweep with an 11-point decision over Hartnell.
Sophomore guard Elijah Nesbit is among the state leaders in assist for MPC for the second straight year, averaging 5.6 a game.
Feeding off his playmaking skills has been DeShawnte Collins and Marcus Wallace, both of which are averaging over 10 points a game.
Nesbit is dropping in 9.8 points a game for MPC while Pacific Grove grad Brad Sendell is shooting 43 percent from the 3-point arc, averaging 6.6 points a game.
The Panthers, who have already surpassed last years win total on the season and in conference, have turned to Spencer Conrad and Kishon Rogers for offensive production.
Conrad is averaging nearly 17 points a night for Hartnell while Rogers sits at 14.8. Alisal graduate Jessy Hurtado has bumped his scoring average to 12.8, shooting 48 percent from the field.
Carson Williams has been a beast on the boards at 12.1 a night, while Conrad is third in the state in steals at 3.4 steals. Rene Hurtado is providing production off the bench at 9.8 points.
