With 10 wins on the season, the Lobos have already matched last year's entire win total.
MPC (10-6, 1-0) will go into tonight's Coast Conference battle at De Anza averaging just under 75 points a game.
There may not be a more balanced team in the state than the Lobos, who have nine players averaging 6.5 points or more per game.
Sophomore DeShawnte Collins has five double-doubles, averaging 11.8 points and just under eight rebounds a night.
Elijah Nesbit and Marcus Wallace are both averaging just under 10 points a night, while Nesbit is among the conference leaders in assists at 4.8.
Pacific Grove grad Brad Sendell has come off the bench to average nearly seven points a night while North County product Jeremy Heitzman has been a contributor off the bench.
De Anza comes into the game having dropped five straight. Terrance Jackson is averaging 15.5 points a game.
