You never know how a team will respond when it gets bumped into a bigger division. And we still won't know until January for the Spartans.
Still, the 4-0 start has been impressive for the defending Pacific Division champs, who were pushed into the Gabilan Division this winter.
Each win has been by at least 15 points. Granted, the wins have come against programs from the Mission Trail Athletic League and the Pacific Division.
But for a program that closed last season with 12 straight wins before falling in the quarterfinals of the Division IV playoffs, Seaside looks poised for another run at supremacy.
The Spartans have arguably one of the best players in the county in junior Jordan Olivares, who can do a little bit of everything, including score.
Olivares is an unselfish player with 'Magic' like passes. Daja Mitchell has benefited, averaging 15.3 points a game while Marianne Tuazon and Mitchell are controlling the boards.
While making at run at perennial Gabilan Division power North Salinas is a tall order, the Spartans are talented enough to compete and make a postseason push.
