Pacific Grove-Monterey boys basketball

It was in this non-league battle last year where the Toreadores got their signature win, improving to 16-0 with a 57-54 win at Pacific Grove.
The reigning Central Coast Section Division III champions will host the Breakers tonight in just their second game of the season.
Four starters - all juniors -- are back from Monterey's title team, including Mohammed Adam, who opened the year with a 24 point effort.
Mohanid Adam, Evans Charles and Tahjae Ordonio joined Mohammed Adam to combine for 50 of the teams 57 points in a season opening win.
For the first time in four years, Brad Sendell isn't running the offense for Pacific Grove, contributing now at MPC.
As a result, it was a scoring by committee approach in the Breakers win over Milpitas as sophomore Josh Cryns was one of four players with at least nine points, finishing with 10.
Tyler Poppino and Ian Sinclair Fox both gave Pacific Grove a presence in the paint while junior Jack Sendell buried three 3-point goals.
The Breakers could give Monterey some problems in the paint with their size, while the Toreadores speed in transition is difficult to stop, particularly on their home floor.
