Monterey Peninsula College is in the semifinals today of the Monterey Classic against Lassen at 5 p.m.
The Lobos are 6-5 in non-conference play, with one of those setbacks being a 76-54 loss to Lassen in a tournament on Nov. 9.
MPC is looking for its first two-game winning streak since opening the season with a pair of wins. Ironically it was Lassen that knocked them from the unbeaten ranks.
The Lobos have already equaled their entire win total from last season.
Three players are averaging over 11 points a game for MPC, including a pair of North Salinas grads in Alissa Foster (11.6) and Monae Sanford (11.2).
Seaside product Marielle Tuazon is dropping in 11.1 points a game while former King City standout Aly Carroll is pulling down a team high 5.8 rebounds while averaging 6.8 points.
