While their two game winning streak was snapped, the Otters are playing with confidence, especially on the road, where they will be tonight at San Diego.
CSUMB is 2-1 on the road. In fact, both conference wins have come on the road from opposite ends of the state, having beaten Dominguez Hills and Humboldt State.
San Diego is off to a 2-0 conference start behind Christian Bayne and Christian Oshita. The streaky shooting Bayne is averaging 17.1 points while the 6-foot-6 Oshita is dropping in 15.5 points.
Mateo Jones has fit right in under new coach Isaac Williams, leading the Otters in points (13.2) and rebounds (9.2). The senior missed all of last year with an injury.
Sophomore Jahvon Johnson is one of three players to have started all nine games this winter for the Otters, averaging 12.4 points and 2.1 assists.
Josh Kollman has drained a team high 21 shots from beyond the 3-point arc, while Seaside graduate Jonquis Bouyea is leading the team in assists (2.9) while averaging 7.8 points.
San Diego his averaging 74 points a game, shooting 46 percent from the field. The Otters are scoring 71 points a game, connecting on 42 percent of their attempts.
