It's clear the Central Coast Section runner-ups from 2017 will be a big meet team this winter after capturing the Peninsula Wrestling Invitational with five wrestlers scoring points.
Four of them were champions, including two-time state meet qualifiers Riley Siason (126 pounds) and Matt Martinez (220).
Both Siason and Martinez have gone to the state wrestling finals in two different weight classes. Ben Perez (182) and Jakobie Chaboya (145) were also champions in the tournament last weekend.
While challenging perennial CCS power Gilroy is a tall task, the Eagles have five wrestlers capable of placing high at the section finals, including Matt Sarabia (132).
