A return to the Pacific Division this year should make the Trojans competitive. That wasn't the case last year at 1-11 in the Gabilan.
A strong preseason is bringing the confidence back as the six wins Alisal has produced has already surpassed last season's entire win total.
Alisal has put together a pair of three-game winning streaks, with two of its three losses coming from teams that won league titles last year. The other was to a team 6-0 this season.
The Trojans have one of the top returning players in the county in Karely Apodaca, who was an all-leaguer as a sophomore in the Pacific Division.
The senior has already been named to one all-tournament team this year. If Maricarmen Padilla and Destiny Plascencia can continue in their supporting roles, a postseason run is realistic.
