Saturday morning thoughts

One for the ages: Grant Sergent's 22-yard touchdown pass to Dominic Scattini with 0.01 seconds left lifts Palma to a 29-27 win over San Benito.
Signature win: The Cowboys use two interceptions from Kelly McDermott in the final three minutes to secure a 31-21 win over Aptos and clinch the Gabilan Division title.
Extending the magic: Marina breaks the single season school record for wins with five, closing the year with a record four straight wins in a 62-28 win over Soquel
Streaks: Make it nine consecutive wins for undefeated Gilroy, seven straight for Salinas, and four for Marina, Carmel and Palma.
Playoff mood: Needing a win to keep its playoff hopes alive, Seaside plays arguably its best game of the season in shutting down Monte Vista 34-7.
Milestone: Andy Hernandez became the first Greenfield player to rush for 1,000 yards and throw for 1,000 yards in a single season.
Numbers: Will Leander tosses two touchdown passes and rushes for two for Marina. DeMarcus Hawkins rushes for three touchdowns for Seaside. Grant Sergent tosses two touchdown passes and rushes for one for Palma. Raul Morales has two touchdown passes and rushes for one for Gonzales. Andy Hernandez rushes for two touchdowns and throws one for Greenfield.
