Alvarez-Aptos football

Thursday's game
Alvarez (3-6) at Aptos (6-3), 7:30 p.m.
During a six-game losing streak, the Eagles had been digging themselves too big of an early hole to get out off, having been outscored 124-13 in the first half.
That changed last week when Alvarez matched that entire first half point total in snapping its losing streak with a win over North Salinas.
For the first time in eight years, Aptos won't be crowned a league champion. Yet, it's playoff bound and looking for momentum going into the CCS Open Division III bracket.
Matt Martinez and Michael Ramirez are coming off big games for the Eagles, having combined for 250 yards and four touchdowns.
Aptos makes a living running the ball as Marcos Reyes has over 1,000 yards rushing, including two games with over 200 yards rushing.
The third quarter has been Aptos' domain as it has outscored the opposition 83-30 this fall, with 15 of those points given up coming in one game.
