Alisal football

It's not magic. It's reality.
No one is waving a wand around campus or during games and making this happen at Alisal.
Otherwise, why did it take 52 years for the Trojans to win their first playoff game?
Granted, Alisal had only made three previous appearances prior to Friday's 30-7 win at Branham. But when you're having a magical -- make that a special year, you create your own fortunes.
You don't forget where you've been. And for Alisal, that was 0-3 to start the season, failing to hold a 17-point lead in a loss to Soledad.
As devastating of a loss as that was, it did not cripple the Trojans. It only united them. Which is the culture head coach Cesar Chaidez has talked about since the day he arrived two years ago.
Each loss during a 2-11 start to his coaching career was a teaching moment. Changing the direction of the program wasn't going to happen overnight.
Yet, in some ways it did.
How many programs start a season 0-3, then go 7-1, including a school record five consecutive wins to find themselves practicing on Thanksgiving?
This is uncharted waters for Alisal. Yes, players are soaking it in. This group just didn't lay down a foundation for the future. It's created expectations.
Oblivious to the pressure of the playoffs, the Trojans are a program chasing history. No one expected this. Well, no one accept the players and coaches in that lockerroom.
Momentum is a dangerous weapon. So is confidence. Alisal has both bottled up.
