Alisal-Branham football

Central Coast Section Division IV playoffs
Friday's game
No. 6 Alisal (6-4) at No. 3 Branham (7-3), 7 p.m.
Either they are going to be well rested or rusty, as it will be 21 days between football games for the Trojans, who are in the postseason for the first time in five years.
Behind quarterback Andrew Marquez and his 19 touchdowns, Alisal closed the season with a five-game winning streak, scoring 91 points in its last two games.
The Bruins finished third in the Santa Teresa Athletic League behind Leland and Independence. Two of their three losses this fall came at home.
Alisal will have to get a helmet or two on tailback Nolan Gallagher, who has rushed for nearly 1,700 yards and has scored 22 touchdowns this fall for the Bruins.
Gallagher, who is averaging 8.5 yards each time he runs with the ball, has rushed for over 200 yards three times this fall, including a 272 yard effort two weeks ago against Del Mar.
Quarterback Tanner Scattini has been efficient, throwing for 1,140 yards and 16 touchdowns, with just five picks in 132 attempts for Branham.
Since opening the season with three consecutive losses, the Trojans have gone 6-1, with the one loss coming from 10-0 Gilroy -- the top seed in Division V.
Marquez has been the centerpiece behind the Alisal attack all season with his ability to run as well as throw the ball.
The Trojans went back to old school football this fall, pounding the ball, using the clock and wearing down defenses with a punishing offensive line
