Hartnell-MPC volleyball

Not only does the potential for a 20 win season exists for the Panthers, but returning to the playoffs is also on the agenda when they visit MPC tonight.
Hartnell, which is two wins shy of equaling last year's entire win total, sits in a tie for third place in the Coast Conference's North Division, just a half-game out of second.
Three teams went to the Northern California tournament last fall out of the North Division. Hartnell is 7-3 in its last 10 matches while the Lobos are just 3-7, including a setback to their rivals.
Salinas grad Sam Shafer has put together a career season for the Panthers with a team high 225 kills while former King City hitter Marlene Morales has 121.
Megan Gonzalez has been the catalyst of the Hartnell offense as a full time setter, compiling 535 set assists while Kawena Paez has 228 digs.
Ella Prewitt leads the Lobos in kills this season with 131 while Maria Deniz and Alysa Flanery have combined for 485 assists. Seaside grad Brittany Aledo is averaging a conference best 4.97 digs a set.
