Friday's game
Gilroy (8-0) at North County (2-7), 7:30 p.m.
No hoopla or dramatic introductions this time. Yet, don't think the Condors aren't jacked to be home for just the second time this year.
There will be no playoffs for North County. But that's not to suggest there will not be a nice crowd with a playoff type feeling on a sparkling new facility.
Plus the Condors can have an input on the Pacific Division title as 8-0 Gilroy needs one more win to clinch at least a share of the title. A loss would give Alisal a share of the title.
Of course, the Mustangs are undefeated this fall for a reason, having outscored opponents 79-8 in the third quarter, with wins over two reigning league champions from last year.
Joseph Barnes has rushed for over 1,000 yards in just seven games for the second straight season for Gilroy, including 121 last week against Monterey.
The Condors have struggled offensively all season, having scored just 39 points in seven losses. But in their lone home game, they erupted for 29 points behind Joseph Bertao's three touchdowns.
Next year starts Friday for North County.
