Seaside football

 The surges, the spurts.
Blink and Seaside just dropped 40 points on an opponent.
 It happens that fast.
Explosive and electric could describe the Spartans.
 Yet, so does lackadaisical.
At times it appears Seaside is going through the motions before it flips a switch and puts 40 plus points on an opponent -- as has been the case the last two weeks.
You can't do that in the Gabilan Division. It won't work.
Head coach Al Avila knows that, has been preaching that for two weeks. We'll find out if his players have gotten the message.
"I'm not talking about winning,'' Avila said. "I'm just talking about being competitive. The storm is about to begin. Are we prepared?''
Clearly Seaside has the talent to take a stab at supremacy in the Gabilan Division.
Sleep walking through the first quarter, though, will cripple them in league. The next tier does not allow you to wait 12 minutes before flexing your muscles.
