Saturday's game
Rincon Valley (0-0) vs. Trinity (0-0) at Monterey High, 2 p.m.
The Eagles posted an 8-1 record last year, closing the season by averaging 58 points a game in their final three contests.
Senior quarterback Cory Olson returns for Rincon Valley, having thrown for nearly 1,400 yards and 21 touchdowns last year while tailback Willie Maples rushed for 898 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Christopher Wright will have a significant role increase for Trinity on the offensive end as the teams primary running back.
Wright, who led the team in tackles last year, chalked up nearly 700 yards and eight touchdowns as a second option out of the backfield for the Warriors.
Wyatt Hankard is an imposing target for the Warriors quarterback to get the ball too in the open field along with Cameron Hill.
It's possible two quarterbacks could see action for Trinity, who was 7-3 last year, with one of those setbacks being a 19-12 loss to Rincon.
