Defensive lineman Dariyn Choates opened up his season with a tackle and a pass breakup for the Sacramento State football team.
The 6-foot-3, 275-pound Choates played in all 11 games last year as a true freshman for the Hornets, recording 24 tackles. The Seaside grad was a member of The Herald’s All-County football team in 2014.
