North County-Alvarez football

Wednesday's game
North County (0-0) at Alvarez (0-0), 7:30 p.m.
This was suppose to be the Condors home opener. But their new synthetic field won't be ready until October.
As it is, North County played all of its home games last season at Alvarez, winning just one game. Over the last two years, the Condors have started 0-4 and 0-6.
Missing the playoffs for the first time in three years, the Eagles are going to rely heavily on tailback Michael Ramirez, who rushed for nearly 800 yards.
Three-time state wrestling qualifier Matt Martinez led Alvarez in rushing touchdowns last year with nine while Ernesto Portillo recorded a team high 81 tackles as a junior.
The third quarter was a thorn for Alvarez, who was outscored 105-20 last season. North County was held to 13 points in the third quarter all season.
The Condors were involved in four games decided by a touchdown or less last season, going 1-3 in those contests. Alvarez went 1-7 last fall after a 2-0 start.
