Appearing in a career high 96 sets last fall, defensive specialist Lizzy Tardieu will begin her senior season for the University of San Diego volleyball team.
Last year Tardieu set a collegiate career high in digs for the Toreros with 167, finishing fourth on the team. The 5-foot-4 standout needs 178 digs to reach 500 for her career.A recruited walk on from Santa Catalina, Tardieu has set season bests in each of her first three years in digs at San Diego, compiling a career best 15 digs in a match last year. She also has 23 service aces and 60 assists.
Tardieu was a four-year standout in volleyball, track and cross country at Santa Catalina, earning The Herald’s Volleyball Player of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year in 2014.
