Jon Jon Berring

Jon Jon Berring, Palma: Having played varsity baseball this past spring as a freshmen, Berring will suit up for the Chieftains as a receiver/defensive back this fall.
The sophomore gives Palma speed on the outside or out on the slot. Berring could also fill a void on defense as a cornerback and return kicks on special teams.

Bering will also play RB and start on defense at safety or DB. He played on varsity during the playoffs at safety and the state bowl play-in game against Campo. He was a true frosh up on varsity and got experience. Soph RB Anthony Villegas, also up on varsity as a frosh but didn't play due to ankle injury, will be the profiled RB and is expected to be the next Palma star RB. He could be a very good one. Jon Jon Bering will also play RB as will Mateo Martinez a junior will also play alot and rotate in. He is the younger brother of Emilio Martinez and will be very good. He was the JV starter. Palma skill players at RB will be young but loaded. The ball will be shared more and they will only get better. Villegas has been compared with Emilio Martinez since the youth leagues and is a little bigger and faster at his age. QB is a competiton between Peter Powers (Mitty JV QB starter in 2015 and Grant Sergeant, Palma JV starter). Both can throw the ball and Powers is a load as a runner. Pwers may play defense as well. WRs Palma has lots of options. If line reloads which is biggest question mark, the offense will surprise.
